5. The Koch Brothers Plan

Donald Trump’s billionaire enemies have so far held their fire, fearing he would expose them in “ferocious counterattacks.” But with their oligarchy on the line, the shadowy Koch brothers are rumored to be busily preparing a media assault. Meeting with fellow members of the “donor class” the Kochs are allegedly pooling together a $100M war chest — $75M for a scorched-earth ad campaign against Trump and $25M for Marco Rubio if he won Florida. Rubio was supposedly been warned that if he can’t start winning, the Kochs might resort to plan B…
4. The “Draft Romney” Plan

According to Republican strategist Roger Stone, the Kochs are preparing to put Mitt Romney into the primary race. (And many others in the GOP establishment see this plan as the best way forward to stop Trump). After all, some of the biggest states do not hold their primaries until after March, including New York and California. In this plan, Romney would not necessarily need to accumulate more delegates than Trump. He would just need to win enough to prevent Trump from securing the nomination in the first round of voting. This “brokered convention” strategy that might explain why Romney has refused to endorse a candidate…

The Rubio and Kasich campaigns have also reportedly crafted plans to take out Trump on the convention floor. If they can deny Trump in the first round of voting, delegates will be free to vote for anyone in the next rounds. The Establishment has the power to change the rules, however, and allegedly may not let Trump even get that far. Delegates are supposed to be tied to the primary votes in each state, but they are typically party loyalists. Some GOP operatives believe that an anti-Trump rule change can be “managed in advance” if necessary…
2. The Third Party Plan

Establishment members of the Republican Party are threatening to abandon it rather than support a Trump nominee. Neoconservative hawks fear that Trump will put an end to the foreign “interventions” that have lined their pockets while the supply-side economics wing fear higher taxes on the wealthy will upset its “trickle-down” orthodoxy. William Kristol, editor of the conservative Weekly Standard, is floating the idea of an “independent” Republican, and there are also reportedly plans for congressional candidates run against Trump’s revolution in the general election.
1. Elect Hillary

“The big fix is in,” says Roger Stone, a former advisor to Trump; the Republicans will take Hillary if they must. For to the Republican Establishment, Trump is not just a threat to the odds of winning this year’s election, he’s also an existential threat to The Establishment itself, with many fearing his rise will upset their balance of power. Establishment Republicans fear a man who is not bound to the party’s donor class, and Clinton’s past business-friendly relationships may mean they could actually see their power increase…
